Bama might want to consider losing this game, in close fashion.

The committee really seems to value "quality losses." :meds:

Bama is a good team, potentially a great team. They don't have a top 4 resume right now. They have a loss and their best win is perpetually overrated ATM. Ho hum. It'll all shake out in the end.

You think A&M is a better win than Wisky or Georgia? I know GA sucks now, but at that time they were strong.

Who would you put there in Bama's place?
Substitute GA with Oregon and you have MSU's argument. Oh, minus the one loss.

I do love that the only team you even give a passive acknowledgement that may deserve to be there instead of 'Bama is another SEC team. Shocking. :meds:

How about Notre Dame? They kicked the shit out of Texas, sent GaTech into a tail spin, smoked Navy and handed Temple their first loss. The last 4 teams ND has played are 26-5. Take out the ND games and they are 25-2.

Oh, and if you want to bemoan your close loss to Ole Miss, fine. I'll do it with Clemson. You lost at home. ND lost on the road. 'Bama had perfect field conditions, ND played in a fucking hurricane. Ole Miss has 2 losses, Clemson has 0. You want to bring up the m2 victories such as first downs, yardage, etc.? Ok. ND out gained Clemson 432 to 296. In the air 321 to 84. ND turned the ball over 4 times in the second half. Oh, and ND is doing this with guys that were 3rd team QB and RB as of spring practice, and season ending injuries at QB, DT, Nickle (2), TE, RB, and their top reserve offensive lineman.

So as far as one loss teams go, I think ND's case is stronger than Alabama's.

Can't believe anybody's arguing over CFP rankings at this point.
Guess what? A lot's going to change in the next few weeks. At the same time last year tOSU was #16 and Mississippi State was #1.

Like I said in another thread...Sam needs a hobby.

What else are we going to do, work?

But I agree with your point. My ND buddies were doing back flips that ND was ranked #5. While nice, ND still needs a lot of shit to break their way, even if they win out, to make the playoffs. Crazy shit happens in November. It happens every year. It’s time to sit back and enjoy some good football.

It's fun to argue, no doubt.

That being said, if everything goes as I'm hoping it will 11/28 in Palo Alto will be HUGE.

Thank God for Gary Danielson, without whom we'd never know how truly awesome these teams always are.

Adrian Peterson couldn't run behind LSU's o line. Pay attention before posting something ignorant.

But but but Fournette shouldn't have to stay in college another year...

Bama plays 'grown ass man football' better than anyone. If there was a team that could shut him down, it would be the Tide.

Of course. It's obvious that Alabama has the best defense in the history of college football.

If anybody is interested in the truth, it's really simple. No, Bama doesn't have the best defense in the nation, but our O Line isn't that good and it was exposed last night. Fournette has been able to run wild all season because we've been playing weak teams all year.

See, pretty simple.

You must have forgot Penn State shutting down Herschel Walker in the Sugar Bowl.
