Those two teams make zero action fun to watch.

Did Brazil even get a shot on goal?

Zindane and Barthez?

Did they cryogenically freeze the dudes, and thaw then out for this tourney?

The combined performances by those two in 98 was possibly the most heroic athletic showing I've ever witnessed. Zindane running up to the President and grabbing the French flag on his jersey was one of the most subtle acts of defiance in the history of sport.

And these two old codgers are at it again...go figure. Running on the fumes of past glory. RACK them.

Zidane was awesome. Dellacamera was making this out like it was an upset. An upset would've been if Brazil outplayed France the entire game and the French chip in a late goal to win. France dominated the game even though they were the underdog. I don't think many expected that to happen but the French aren't a garbage team.

This sets up an interesting matchup of two old timers...Figo vs. Zidane.

I was thinking the same thing watching the game today. It reminded me a lot of the '98 championship game, when the French made Brazil look like amateurs.

Zidane was absolutely phenomenal. He was doing all kinds of subtle moves at key times that kept the ball in France's possession and made the Brazilians trying to steal the ball from him look foolish.

Barthez can be scarily erratic at times, but today, he looked in top form and ready to charge over anybody looking to challenge him.

Patrick Vieira and Franck Ribery also both played outstanding. Both had great chances and should have scored.

Brazil had ONE shot on goal. There's probably about 250 million Brazilans ready to wring somebody's neck about now. Completely inexcusable if I were a fan of Brazil.

Somebody needs to get ahold of the coach's tape of this game to see how a clinic is put on. RACK the French.

Brazil just couldn't be arsed, and you can't do that when you're playing in Europe. This was never going to be a lottery tournament like 2002 was, and they never got out of first gear. Looking back, it now seems obvious that they were going to fall against the first team that wasn't scared of their reputation.

Ronaldinho absolutely choked on his ridiculous Wonder Woman headband. That World Cup was supposed to be his for the taking, but he pissed it away.
