Someone dig up Collina

Too bad they made him retire. He was the best I have seen and actually enjoyed.

I read on the Net he was done. At age 45 its mandatory retire plus he took a sponsorship from the same company that owns AC Milan. Any surprise there?

Collina was forced to retire from international duty on December 31, 2005. However, Italy had a domestic requirement that no referee could turn 46 during a Serie A season (45 is the mandatory retirement age). Collina got a special exemption and was going to referee one more season in Italy (but still lose his FIFA badge at the New Year). However, when he signed a sponsorship deal with Opel, he came under heavy scrutiny for a possible conflict of interest and subsequently retired from all refereeing.
