My Dad had bad feet and that kept him from being drafted. I remember air raid drills where we had to turn off all the lights, etc. WE brought copper pennies to school for the war---kill the Japs. One of my Dad's cousins saw combat in the Pacific. One time he told me how they cut off the ears of dead Jap soldiers for souvenirs and that they bled yellow blood. He also gave me a Jap flag he got, no ears.

Takeaways from the war:
- American women were strongly encouraged via social pressure to 'provide comfort' intimately to soldiers as a Patriotic Duty.
- European women had no hangups about American black men.
- Filipina women were whores, happily. (Read: they liked to fuck, and did so readily and often.)
- Italian women were whores, disgustingly. Male children prostituted their own sisters without a second thought. (Read: they hated to fuck, but were going to do what they had to do to eat.)
- French women were capable of love, not just sex.
- The Japanese were psychopaths.
- Blacks were used to serve/support.
- The war taught valuable life lessons and business lessons.
- Truman's wife and daughter weren't shit except entitled.
- Europe was an overall bad experience enough not to ever want to go back in peacetime.
- Going to Korea next decade sucked.
- Don't touch Grandpa's gun. (It was legendary to us grandchildren.)
