The bright side is that should Cadet Bone Spurs or Pence face criminal charges Flynn can now be forced to testify against them, as Trump just removed Flynn's ability to incriminate himself.

I've never felt good about the presidential right to pardon.

This only adds to that bad feeling.

Read an interesting piece about the potential for a President to pardon himself. It hinged on one word - grant. The Constitution's Article 2 wording is "The President ... shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of impeachment." The piece argued that the way grant is defined, there must be someone other than the grantor on the receiving end of the grant; you can't grant something to yourself. Will be interesting to see if/how this plays out in court.

You can be the grantor and the grantee of a trust.
You just can’t then also be the trustee.
