Obama didn't create Ebola, so it's not his fault.
Bush didn't create SARS, so it's not his fault.
Trump didn't create Covid, so it's not his fault.
Ebola didn't spread in the US. To Obama's credit.
SARS didn't spread in the US. To Bush's credit.
Covid? Whatever, it's to Trump's credit.
There seems to be a pandemic of one-dimensional though process around here.

It’s not the pandemic, which of course is apolitical.
It’s the response of leadership that is the issue.

Right. They are governors of 2 of the largest states in the country. So of course they worry no responsibility.
You are the one that doesn’t want to hold them accountable. The buck stops with them. But since you want the Feds to handle everything you don’t understand personal responsibility.

Newsom is a corporate elite and would make a great 2005 republican, so I have very little use for him, but we have a .023 death rate and your R Gov has a .035 death rate (FL also R is .033). So I am sure in your next post you will acknowledge that Abbott has done a worse job than Newsom. Right?

Newsom has made some missteps (like transferring inmates around like there was no virus while telling us to lockdown (idiot move)) but he is taking it seriously unlike BrokenSeater's orange tax cutter.
