Help wanted: activities when everything is shut down

Really really really need brainstorming -- for a friend -- on what to do when there's nothing to do because everything is shut down.

What are realistic things one can do to keep one's mind and body functioning -- sane -- while quarantined? to improve one's self and maintain health?

Thank you.

Actually, I'm abstaining from pron and drinking, for now.

You have to get a "hall pass" to go inside the grocery stores. Occupancy control.

Half the pedestrians are in the street to maintain a 3 meter distance from each other.

Are you that dense that you cannot come up with things to do ? As this thing started moving along, I set up my activities for the next 3 or more weeks.

1. Bought enough lumber to complete my 24 x 16 deck, 4 raised beds and a small greenhouse.
2. Bought enough materials to install my 6 zone sprinkler system, and rented a trencher and did my trenchs for such.
3. I have 4 piles of cut juniper I need to burn.
4. Install my 35 foot VHF ham radio antenna so I have local 100 mile comms when the communications grids goes down.
5. Install my long line HF ham radio antenna so I can talk to others in foreign countries and get the straight shit.
6. Finish grade the gravel pad for my new shop.
7. Plan the 50 or so plants we bought for our new landscaping.
8. Pick one of the 20 or so day trip or overnight exploring trips we have listed. None require contact with people.
9. Reload a couple thousand rounds of .223 AR 14 (sup Joe ???? ) to be fully ready for the boogaloo that is coming.

Rack me for getting outside and doing things, and not sitting inside, watching pronhub and jerking my dick all day long like some of you seem to be doing.

My plants and animals keep me plenty busy. And I also got more ammo and two extra clips and fixed a raised bed and am converting some old windows into a greenhouse and going camping tomorrow, so when Duhron and I are agreeing you might want to check YOUR activities.

I currently live above the arctic circle. Someone has to be here if others cannot.

There's a travel ban in my company, which requires going above the paygrade of my boss' boss. If can only get there by plane, you ain't getting there on the company's dime.

It is a very surreal feeling to look at possible quarantine, when one doesn't have hobbies except work.

Ham radio is still a bucket list item for me. You are kick ass for being an operator. If you have any crazy stories, please share them.

Thank you.

Ok, one activity that you can do is to take a bunch of pics of where you are and then post a PET. I've never been anywhere near that far north, sure I'd like to see it. And from what I've heard, I'd love to go fishing up there.
I take crap photos, bruh LOL. The tundra is gorgeous, no matter the season. So many different types of land, flat as the prairie, jagged mountains, active volcanoes and hot springs, sweet cliffs above water so clear you can see straight to the bottom, thick forests of dark pine, rivers wide as lakes or thin as branches, caribou strolling outside your door, foxes stealing meals from tundra puppies, wolves minding their own business unless they're hungry and have the courage of the group, bears who aren't afraid of humans which would be cute if they weren't dangerous, fish bigger than your thighs, crows big as your torso, swans and geese and fat hares, ....

the sports hunters bring lots of money in, but some asshole demanding to shoot the biggest bear which can be found for him rubs me the wrong way.

The fishing is crazy. Unless you have little man syndrome or need to pay off last year's boating expenses, you'll never be dissatisfied with the size of fish you can catch out here.

Alcohol withdrawal cold turkey would legitimately decimate some villages up here. It's bad.

Each store's occupancy is being limited based on one customer per every 10 square meters of floor space. They limit the passes to the number of people that can be in the building at any one time.

Apparently, I got the last available pass when I arrived and gave it back to an empty-handed attendant later. I must have just missed having to wait to get inside.

Yes, I suppose if he wrapped his lips around the barrel and performed fellatio, he'd get a great deal of peace.

Been riding my new toy a fair bit.

Hoping that lotsa fat bike riding will result in not so fat me. Knocked off 5 lbs in the last week or two.

Beyond that, this shithole, fb, pron.

And occasionally going to work, too.

Definitely a fun looking toy 'Holic - I picked up Trek Roscoe 8 a little over a year ago (stock photo from the Trek site - but this is the one I picked up) Image. That looks like the full fatty tires, mine only has the 2.75", mid-fatty. The 1x12 drive train is the bomb, no need to fuck around with the front derailleur, and the dropper post, while being a fairly simple thing is an incredible innovation for Mtn Bikes.

BTW, when taking bike pron pictures, don't cast a shadow on the good parts.

That's a sweet ride, dude. Is it CF? Must be light as fukk. And yes 1X drivetrain is the motherfukking bomb for MTBs. Mine is just an 11, but it does the trick. I can climb a fukking tree in the granny gear. I have 4.8s. They are the shit. This fukking thing rolls over EVERYTHING!!!!

My Marin 29er has been collecting dust since I bought this, except for the one time I got CB to put down the xbox controller and go for a ride with me.

I will get some better lit bike pron when I get a chance.

How do those + size tires ride? I have kind of regretted not going full suspension when I bought my hardtail, but I am a cheap fukk. Been looking for a deal on a FS 29er, but nobody's giving them away. Then I noticed that everyone and their brother is going with fatties so I figured, well, they're sorta full suspension.

I was asking about fatties on a facebook fat bike page when I got a message from a dude in Mass about his Felt. He had almost zero miles on it, added a bluto, twist grip shifter (works well with heavy gloves) and a few hundred bucks worth of tires. Then he realized it was a tad big for him. He wasn't Queerland short, but he was a little shorter than me. Anyhoo, it is the perfect size for me.

They were about 1400 new with a rigid fork. I paid a grand and couldn't be happier. I can sit in the saddle and spin over all sorts of shit. Couldn't do that with the hardtail.

Next purchase will be a dropper post.

Mrs Seater and the dogs and I have taken up residence outside of Taos NM during Corona. Lots less people here and there aren't silly runs on the grocery store.

Hiking, snowshoeing, new deck, and home improvement are all on the to do list. If this panic gets super crazy we can kill a deer, turkey or elk right in the back yard.

You have to pedal TEN TIMES HARDER to go the same speed...

In the winter...these fat tires are great in the snow and ice....if you have a fat tire in spring or summer or fall...you are a faggot!

Don't know about 10X.

It is slower on smooth bike paths than my 29er for sure, but my fat ass ain't racing. It absolutely barrels down hills though, no matter how rocky it is. I'll prolly end up killing myself on it! My first ride was in the snow and I was hammering downhill when it slid out on me. Smashed the fukk outta my knee. It's still puffy from a little water on it.

You are a retard. I guarantee you would be working 10x harder with a skinny tire road bike on single track path than on either of these two bikes. If I want to ride on paved road/trail I will be on either my CF road bike or my Miyata 610 I converted to a "Townie" style bike.

'Holic, really like the fat tires, they do sort of act as added suspension - you don't want to run them at high pressure. The added width is quite noticeable/nicer when running through dry/wet creeks full of cobbles and such.

Not a huge fan of full-suspension bikes, my thought is that those are for pretty extreme single track and bombing downhill nasty terrain. I prefer the tighter feel and response from a hardtail.

Edit: I've seen your PET's, I don't believe you are a Faggot, so shit can those lime green pedals and remove the piece 'o shit bottle cages for fuck sake.

Have you ridden a fatty? (I'm talking bikes, Dins) I run around 5-6 pounds on single track, as high as 20 for smooth bike paths.

My first decent MTB was an older Cannondale Jekyll with full suspension. Still have it. It was the shit....15 years ago. Haven't ridden it on trails in a few years. Need to pull it out and take it for a spin again. I really liked being able to sit and spin my way up long slogs. Can't do that with a hardtail, as I found out when I bought my Marin. But this Felt I can ride just like a FS. It's slow, I guess, but so am I. But it climbs like a mountain goat.
