I'm not arguing that the song doesn't suck... because that would be an absurd argument.

But for a time, it was the official anthem of skeezy white-trash drunk chicks who were looking to catch dick. So it does have some historic cultural significance... that should rarely be revisited.

Hell, I've played suckier shit than either of those, even during that show. To wit: Marie Osmond, The Andrea True Connection, and disco-era Bee Gees.

If those are the options, I'll go with suicide. BTW why did "mchat" replace the old chat feature? It was much more entertaining and intimate.

Ok, ok...sheesh, such drama. I could maybe offer a third option of some Dropkick Murphys to keep you above ground since you're so picky.

The old one crapped out. Don't remember the specifics other than it just stopped working. It's probably a safe bet around here just to blame Obama.

Completely unacceptable. Get your priorities straight, bub.
Me and Mrs. 88 are traveling to Ohio this weekend to see the oldest son get wedded.
Congrats to your spawn and best wishes to the bride.
We are supposed to meet his betrothed's mother (divorced) on Friday evening. If we shake loose from that noose, we'll try to catch the end of the show.
Just ensure Mrs. 88 knocks back a few glasses of wine or something stronger early in the festivities. She's sure to fall asleep where she stands/sits, which'll be your cue to beat a hasty retreat.

Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln are now considered unworthy of being memorialized. Cops are the bad guys, while law breakers who resist arrest garner sympathy. Politicians apparently are believed to know more about science than scientists. The US, a country that not long ago was the most respected nation on Earth, is unable to manage a pandemic that much of the rest of the world has seemed to figure out. A narcissistic, egotistical megalomaniac who tweets more than a teenage girl and acts like a third grader is president and has some Americans believing he should be on Mt. Rushmore.

Clearly, we have crossed over into...the Twilight Zone. Meet me in TuneTown this evening, where what is normally a CZ will start off in the TZ. Tribute will be paid to Charlie Daniels, head injuries will be musically explored, and there may even be music played that would meet with Stanley's approval. The rest of the time will be filled with a variety of tunage to which the 'Town's regular listeners have become accustomed.

Join me, won't you?

Great show last night.

If stimulating lofty discussion of the important issues of our time is your thing....well....keep looking. If rest area side hustles and general depravity is more your cup of tea, you'd have loved it.

There were plenty of important issues discussed last night. You just had to do a little rooting around up in there to find 'em.

Important?

Sure, to some anyway.

Stimulating?

Same.

Lofty?

Not a fukking chance.

We didn't scrape the bottom of the barrel. We poked a hole in the bottom and kept digging, or rooting, if you prefer.

BTW, your feigned shock/repulsion was well played. Oscar worthy.

Backup singers included Tina Turner. And Zappa’s drug of choice was tobacco in large quantities.
