I assume what you mean is MS SQL server at your house and MS access running remotely over vpn? I'm not surprised. It would probably be slow over most wan lines, specially when you run it with VPN over crappy home router/vpn combo. One option is to publish the app as a web app and see if that would w...

I'm no photo expert and most likely never will be. The one thing I have learned is that any camera can capture cool professional looking pictures if you know what you are doing. Ultimately I think only you know what you want. I went out and got an all manual film camera (K1000) to force myself to le...

Re: Anyone have a solution for the Firefox 2.0 memory hog issue?

Apparently the real solution is/will be Firefox 3.0. Beta 2 is currently out for download if you want to test it. From some readings, it is estimated that it is much more memory efficient then FF 2 and IE 7. Already there is talk of FF 4 and how it will push the role of a browser.

He did say in his original post that the wifi-switch is on. Another option is the FN-Key with the F2 key I think or F8 or some other Function key at the top. Usually has a little antenna with signals coming out of it that also disables wifi.

MS Upgrades are always bad. I would say that probably 30 to 40 percent of upgrades fail outright. Another 20 to 30 will have issues. I think from an enterprise perspective, that is not worth it. Now try explaining that to an executive.

MS is going to do two things. their first tactic is to focus on large partners to force them to switch over, which a large chunk will probably start by later this year. The second is kill XP as soon as they can so that they will not sell it on any new system. Considering that most enterprises genera...
