I think it happens to a lot of bands / performers who stay around a long time. It's pretty hard to be "new and original" for 30 years. Who has done that, anyway? To a lot of people the music of Yes or The Police may have gotten stale after the first few albums. Other people who may be more...

Blowin' in the Wind is obviously an all time classic, but I really like a few other of Dylan's better.

When I want something really quick to throw on some pasta I just take a decent "jar" sauce, rinse the jar with about 1/4 - 1/2 cup of red wine, add a little EVOO and a bunch of sliced 'shrooms, and simmer for about 10 or 15 min.

The New York Rock Ensemble This was a band in the late 60's early 70's that played some good tight straight up rock 'n roll, with some classical and jazz influences. The band was fronted by Michael Kamen, a Julliard student at the time, who went on to become one of the most "in-demand" com...

A lot of Santana's music could be described as mainly instrumental, as you say.

This is one of my favorites. Very instrumental and jazz fustion oriented. Song of the Wind is one of my all time favorite Santana cuts.

You're really 34? I thought you were more like 20 something. It's OK though, I won't hold it against you. Me, I'm really old. Not like Luther or Wolfman old, but old enough so that I have about as much hair growing out my ears as I do on the top of my dome. Maybe I seem younger on the message board ...

Any grunge band. RF, I agree about Tom Petty, but I have to take some issue with what you say about Springsteen. If you look at Springsteen from a 2005 perspective, and maybe even from the early 90's, yes maybe he's overrated. But his first three albums, IMHO, were and remain rock 'n roll classics. ...

Stanford took a 51-25 lead over Oregon at halftime tonight and cruised to an 88-69 victory. Matt Haryasz led the Cardinal with 20 points and 20 rebounds . Haryasz had 13 boards in the first half and left the game with about 5 minutes left after grabbing his 20th. Both totals were career highs for th...

The Cardinal is finally showing some life

After losing Pac10 Player of the Year Josh Childress to the NBA as well as two other starters and their long time coach Mike Montgomery, Stanford came out this season with a new coach and had to play their first 8 games on the road because Maples Pavillion's renovation wasn't finished yet.
