Good times, Roach.
Seems like that jingle (sung by Dinah Shore) was playing constantly on local TV and radio when I was a kid.

Other days I'd get on the California St cable car, head up the hill and hop off at some random restaurant. Ever make it to the top of the hill and go to the Tiki bar Tonga room (Fairmont)? Sounds familiar but not sure. It was a long long time ago. I think I might have gone there once with my parent...

Should have been Bank of Amerigo. My dad worked for years a few blocks away at the (former) Bechtel building at 50 Beale St. I spent a couple of summers working in (I think) the Met Life Building. The office looked right down at the Bay Bridge. DTSF was a lot of fun to have a summer job in the 70s. ...

  This is actually a snowy egret. Fairly common around here but not in large numbers, and they’re pretty shy. They’ll usually take off if they sense anyone approaching. I have a four burner Weber Genesis (LP) that I’ve been using for prolly five years. It works great but sometimes I feel like it doesn’t get hot enough. We live about 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The spot we stopped at in the desert is a 75 mile drive (about 50 as the crow flies) mostly on winding two lane highways through the mountains, about 3/4 of the way to the Salton Sea. A little over a 1 1/2 hour drive each way. https://i.imgur.com/KMMqu2...
