Re: any home baristas here?

I’m a cold brew guy, have been for years (before it became a thing). I buy whole beans from a few different roasters in the city and from upstate NY, use my Breville grinder at beginning of each batch. In fact, I would argue anyone who isn’t using freshly ground beans has no idea what they’re doing...

I go into the break room at work and, when nobody’s looking, fish used K-pods from the trash, and take them home and re-use them. You can usually get a decent second cup from these. Maybe not quite as good as the first but it’s free and it helps reduce the plastic waste stream. Dude. Do you pull ou...

K-pods are expensive and wasteful, a needless part of the ridiculous stream of plastic waste that’s poisoning our planet. Hope you and all the rest of us are going barefoot. Re: Weekend Roll Call 4-6-24

I was thinking of going to see Frampton when he comes to San Diego on April 14. I had a pre-sale code when tickets came out because I donate to the San Diego Symphony, which owns the venue. The tickets that I wanted, which aren't even that close to the stage, were going for $300. Fuck that and fuck ...

We, Mrs Mike and I, had lunch at In N Out this afternoon. None of them are franchises, BTW. All owned by the family business. Double Double animal style (grilled onions and secret sauce) Cheeseburger, protein style (lettuce wrap, no bun) Fries, well done (cooked a little longer so they're crispier) ...

Eclipse? Yeah nobody knew that was coming. Well Marjorie says its because we need to repent. “God is sending America strong signs to tell us to repent. Earthquakes and eclipses MTG, Boobert, Gayts, the Orange One and many more things to come,” Yep I think some repentment is definitely in order.

My stepdaughter lives in Ringwood, NJ (about 25 miles NW of NYC) and has an apartment in Manhattan where her son lives while at NYU. She says that they felt it in both places and it was kind of cute compared to CA.

The six finger thing is intentional. It is Biblical. It is meant to show that they are part of the Nephilim. Genesis 6:4 2 Samuel 21:20 Just like Barry (the serpent in the garden) is shown with 6 fingers here... https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-apps/imrs.php?src=https://arc-anglerfish-washpost-pro...

I love my small town. The DMV office is only open 3 days a week, there is never a line, everyone is super nice and I can get out in 30 minutes regardless of why I'm there. My wife let her license lapse by 90 days which is supposed to require a new application, written test, etc. The DMV lady was li...

Re: CA minimum wage $20/hour ???

Around here you avoid going into the DMV office if at all possible. Sometimes you can make an appointment but you have to do it months in advance. If you walk in, you first have to talk to a greeter who asks what you’re there for. Then they give you a number and you have to wait in a large room with...

Webb actually pitched pretty well for six innings, and left with a 3-2 lead. I think the Giants need to worry more about their bullpen than their starters.
