DiT, ET Yes, that is all good advice, and we are currently pursuing increased security. Fortunately they broke into the wrong side of the site. All the real critical data is well protected. We're developing code that will match up IPs with usernames, and if it comes up different than the established...

Any way to extract those suckers? I have a cool photo I'd like to share, but I can't extract the mutha from the e-mail message, since the sender embedded it.

I solved it. It was a process in the busiest SVCHOST that was causing it. I disabled just one of them that was obviously not necessary, and it worked. It now shuts down normally. Thanks for all the help everyone. Its great to have a place to go to where you can always get real answers to stuff like ...

Thanks dude. It's worth the extra cash to get one that is reliable. BTW - you were right about the linksys one I bought 18 months ago. It wasn't made by cisco and it has proven to be less than reliable. I'll probably eventually upgrade that one, too.

Home network workgroup names

I just realized that one of my puters on the network has a different work group name.

Questions:

1 Does anything else besides changing the workgroup name have to be done?

2. Why am I able to see the shared file folder on this computer that is in a different workgroup?

http://www.computers4sure.com/product.asp?productid=2248272&affid=10000483 its for a laptop on my network. I recall you touting cisco as one of the best, and I'm not at all happy with the linksys one I have - it keeps dropping off the network. I think it gets too hot, because it happens far less ...

That sucks. Only means when games get more complex and take up more space down the road, you'll have to buy "Next PC 2007".

I'd rather go playstation and stay away from Gates products.

Question regarding website security and a break in

someone got a hold of a customers password and username and broke into my website this weekend. They did no damage, but they viewed stuff that is confidential. They did it from a kinkos.
