Best music DL program I've used is limewire, but I would like a bit torrent client to replace loki and suprnova, because I have a couple of albums partially downloaded. Dins, change your default gateway if you're using the factory default. Should be the first thing you do when you set it up. I'd get into the configuration of the router and look at the length of time you've got it set for the DHCP lease to expire. It'll drop a connection when it expires, so if it's...

When your connection is down, connect to the router from the PC and check on the tcp/ip information. Does it have an IP? Most modems have some diagnostic features as well. You can actually ping them and all that jazz so you can try to do that as well. You'll have to look into your particular model....

I recently had a similar problem at work, I discovered that WS_FTP Pro was slowing things down, not sure why. I switched to Filezilla. Hmmm, I use FTP but not the pro version. But things don't slow down, they stop working. I'll have to watch it see if it happens when I don't use it one day, though....

DSL dropouts

About once a day I experience a DSL drop off, where I cannot access the internet. here's the solution I usually have to go through to get it back up: Unplug the power to the DSL modem. Unplug the power to the Linksys router (WRT55ag) power down the computer. Boot up the computer, reconnect DSL recon...

Sprint does not have full coverage in California. Major cities yes, but there are major gaps in between. I have a verizon phone that works virtually everywhere in this state, so I would be more likely to go with a separate PDA unit. I have had great luck with dell products.

PDAs anyone use one if so, what?

I'm thinking of getting one. I've gotten so busy and am on the go constantly. I need a mobile secretary just to keep track of stuff. I was looking at the Dell Axim X-30. I started using limewire, and it's excellent. 10 times as fast as kazaalite, and far fewer fucked up files, easy to use.

I struggled to find these two songs for a week on Klite. Endless cycles of queue and connect and queue. found them both in 3 minutes on LW and d/l'ed them first shot.

what version windows? The older versions, like 98, can have this problem. XP usually does not.

I ran into this with a 98 machine. I tried every driver there was for that monitor, no luck. I upgraded to 2000, and it worked fine.
