Re: Gary Anderson to Oregon State

Too bad birds aren't smart enough to turn up the thermostat or fly over to Bloomingdale's and charge a winter jacket to the Amex, ya know, so their vaginas don't get too cold. Anybody making $2M+ in Madison can surely take a nice February vacation to somewhere with palm trees. For the majority of t...

Re: Bo Pelini is a Penguin

When the AD mentioned that it was more about wins, he briefly touched on a few off-the-field incidents which as we now know was Pelini being a total ahole to everyone in the administration. I hate to admit that I was wrong about Bo Pelini. I really thought he was the right guy to turn around NU's sh...

Re: Mike Riley to Nebraska

I never for one minute felt it was a good idea to hire Frost as OC or even HC. It's chasing ghosts of success's past. I've never been a fan of chasing a coach solely on their NU ties. It hasn't worked the previous two times. Bo was DC one year here and hired several NU guys as coaches: all but one, ...

Re: Mike Riley to Nebraska

Riley said today that he was wanting to hire people better than him as assistants, which based on his salary, which is less than Bo was making, they're going to open the checkbook to hire quality assistants that he knew he couldn't afford at OSU. The Beliema rumors were just that: rumors. NU's chanc...

Re: Mike Riley to Nebraska

I've often admired Oregon State's playing style, so I'm very pleased with this hire. People are looking at his WL record and moaning, but the guy wasn't even making 1mil per year, which means assistants were making crap. NU can do better than Bo

The problem with both Nebraska, UGA & everybody else is parity. Nebraska probably needs to learn that they're not going to run away with the ring every year (or what seemed that way) any more. Bo's a weird dude - sort of a Les Miles wannabe, but I'm not so sure there's a whole lot of coaches ou...

Been gone a while. My wife and I decided to hit the reset button on our life and we had another kid, who is now 2 and 1/2, so my time has been sucked to the hilt this year. I really lost interest in the team and mainly Bo. I was tired of the losing in big games where you kept hoping for a win agains...

NU outyards MSU but giving up 5 turnovers (3 in the first quarter alone) is not a recipe for success. Most of them were by our freshman. I'm damned proud of the effort these guys put in today. They've been decimated by injuries on the offensive line and that makeshift group (at least one playing out...

there are pelini apologists? i get the firing a 9 win guy argument....but that's more about the next hire than an actual defense of Bo. i think NU is sort of stuck. they need some kind of offensive identity that isn't Martinez...and Pelini for all his street cred hasn't been a miracle worker on D. ...

They didn't get any better when hiring Bo. In fact they got worse as At Large points out Bo has no titles or BCS games. I think you are forgetting the Callahan years. With that as a barometer, Bo meets those qualifications. Regardless of his sins, he sometimes wins the games they should win. He's n...

How 'bout dem Gophers, eh? Pretty sure Bo is gone. They're just biding their time. I had very high hopes for Pelini, but this game was the last straw. Minnesota did nothing different than Wisky did to us in the B1G CG. They ran 4 basic plays up the middle and this genius couldn't do anything to sto...

Well I'll be dipped... NU AD and Chancellor have said that Bo won't be punished. I'm guessing it's because they already addressed it after it happened. Texas Pros: is the best job in terms of financial. There's less travel since most of the recruits are instaters. Tons of money funding. Their own network. You mean he didn't know that Bo Pelini was the person he is when he, Tom Osborne, hired him over his favorite Turner Gill?

He knew. Don't forget, Osborne got his start coaching under Bob Devaney, who was a polar opposite of him, too.

He won't be gone this week or month. He'll be gone if they continue to slide the rest of the year. If they run the table to get a division championship, he's probably fine depending on how they do in the Big10 championship game and the bowl game. Pretty sure the NU athletic dept. knew about this sid...

There's a civil war going on right now in the Husker community, or at least on the board I frequent.
